“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are”

Gimme That

Gimme That

“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path.

Your own path you make with every step you take.

That’s why it’s your path.” Joseph Campbell

The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are…. I love this because it is so liberating. To be able to dive deeply and fully into the person you want to be. To hold the highest idea of who you are and bring that to life is one of the greatest gifts we can bring into the world. Be Real. People want the authentic you, at work, in a relationship, in friendships…. if your weird, hell act weird, shy, outgoing, whatever just show up fully who you are, everywhere.

There was a time (not too long ago 😉 ) when I would not leave my house without full makeup on, hair done, expensive dresses.. you get the point. Basically I’ve come to realize that none of those superficiality’s were a true depiction of who I am. Nor did they fulfill what I truly desire. I was living someone-else s path! I thought I HAD to do those things in order to feel comfortable with myself. When I look at my daughter I want to teach her that she does not need any of those things to be a valuable person… because she already is, just the way she was made. I don’t ever want Faith to feel like she needs to be someone else to “fit in”. So I had to take a good look at myself and let go of the need to always be “totally together”. I am not saying I will not wear makeup or dress up when I want to, but I have erased the feeling that I need too, and that is being real. I do go out now without makeup on, in sweats, hair up, and guess what, that is liberation for me. I don’t care what magazine covers say I need to be or wear. These false portrayals of women can be so damaging to our young girls.

The reason I put this into body wellness is that a lot of women I encounter seem to condemn their own bodies for not looking like airbrushed models instead of thanking their bodies for the wonderful years of faithful service they have provided. You do not need to do every workout and diet known to man if that is not your path. If you don’t like weights do yoga or something you are passionate about. Trying to be something or someone you are not is sooo draining both physically and spiritually. You are here to share with all of us your unique self, and that will open more doors in your life than you can imagine.  ” Don’t dance around the perimeter of the person you want to be. Dive deeply and fully into it.”
